Though there is a history of princes of Monaco abdicating, and Prince Rainier has spoken of doing so, an abdication is not expected to take place unless and until Prince Albert has married. His elder sister, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Princess of Hanover, presently is second in line to the throne. |
