| Born on February 14, 1966 in Esentouki, Russia. He returned to his roots in December 1991. He is 1.66m tall and belongs to VAO Thessaloniki. He lost olympic bronze (fifth) in Barcelona over less body weight. Four years later, in Atlanta he won the silver medal in his category. He began his athletic carrer in 1977 as a gymnast. Member of the USSR Weightlifting Team from 1982 to 1990, he was voted best athlete of the year 1994 by the Greek sports journalists. He is a graduate of the Department of Pharmacy and Lieutenant in the Greek Navy. Married to Monica from Czech Republic, he has two boys, Victor (1996) and Patric (1998). |
