Ο Wilhelm Hauschild γράφει ένα γράμμα, υπογεγγραμένο από 107 εργαζόμενους, προς τον εργοδότη του, την φαρμακοβιομηχανία Friedrich Bayer and Co, ζητώντας την υποστήριξη της εταιρείας στην δημιουργία ενός αθλητικού συλλόγου. Η εταιρεία θα δώσει την συγκατάθεσή της και στις 1/7/1904 θα ιδρυθεί η Turn- und Spielverein Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Στις 31/5/1907 θα δημιουργηθεί ξεχωριστό ποδοσφαιρικό τμήμα
Wilhelm Hauschild writes a letter – signed by 107 of his fellow workers – to his employer, the Friedrich Bayer and Co., seeking the company's support in starting a sports club. The company will agree to support the initiative, and on 1/7/1904, Turn- und Spielverein Bayer 04 Leverkusen will be founded. On 31/5/1907 a separate football department will be formed within the club
