Ποδόσφαιρο
Εξαιτίας της κακής απόδοσης της εθνικής ομάδας της Γερμανίας στο Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο της Χιλής, η Γερμανική Ομοσπονδία Ποδοσφαίρου (DFB), με πρόεδρο τον Hermann Neuberger, αποφασίζει να καθιερώσει το εθνικό πρωτάθλημα ποδοσφαίρου που θα ξεκινήσει την επόμενη σεζόν (24/8/1963) με 16 ομάδες
Following the German national team’s loss at the quarter final of the 1962 World Cup in Chile, the DFB national assembly, under the presidency of Hermann Neuberger, decides to introduce a federal league starting with the 1963/64 season (24/8/1963) with the participation of 16 teams
