Ο Richard Lindon πεθαίνει σε ηλικία 71 ετών. Ήταν κατασκευαστής μποτών και παπουτσιών και προμήθευε την πόλη Rugby (στον ποταμό Avon), την γενέτειρα του rugby football. Θεωρείται ο εφευρέτης της πρώτης μπάλας ποδοσφαίρου από ελαστική φούσκα, που αντικατέστησε την μπάλα από κύστη γουρουνιού, την οποία παρουσίασε μαζί με τον William Gilbert, στην Μεγάλη Έκθεση του Λονδίνου το 1851
Richard Lindon dies at the age of 71. He was a boot and shoe maker who supplied footwear the town of Rugby (on the River Avon), the birthplace of rugby football. It is believed he invented the fist footballs with rubber bladders replacing those of pig’s bladders, which he presented, along with William Gilbert, (both round and oval) in 1851 at the Great Exhibition in London
