Ο Μπάρακ Ομπάμα βραβεύει 21 Αμερικανούς πολίτες με το Μετάλλιο της Ελευθερίας, την ύψιστη τιμητική διάκριση, σε μία τελετή στον Λευκό Οίκο δύο μήνες πριν από την λήξη της δεύτερης θητείας του. Ο Τομ Χανκς, ο Μπρους Σπρίνγκστιν, η Νταϊάνα Ρός και ο Μπιλ Γκέιτς και μαζί τους οι Καρίμ Αμπντούλ Τζαμπάρ Μαικλ Τζόρνταν που μαζί έχουν συνολικά πετύχει πάνω από 70.000 πόντους στο NBA, “απογείωσαν το ηθικό μας, δυνάμωσαν το έθνος και μας ώθησαν προς την πρόοδο” δήλωσε ο Αμερικανός Πρόεδρος.
