Ο 29χρονος Καναδός Alexander MacKenzie ξεκινά με 13 φίλους και 3 κανώ από τη λίμνη Great Slave ακολουθώντας το ρεύμα του ποταμού προς τα δυτικά με την ελπίδα να βρεθούν στον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό αλλά θα βρεθούν στον Αρκτικό μετά από 102 ημέρες έχοντας καλύψει 3.000 μίλια κινούμενοι τελικώς βόρεια. Ο ποταμός που τέμνει τον Καναδά θα πάρει το όνομά του. Στις 22/7/1793 θα ακολουθήσει άλλη διαδρομή και θα βρεθεί δυτικά στον Ειρηνικό
29-year old Alexander MacKenzie begins his expedition with 13 friends of his and 3 canoes from Great Slave Lake to the west following the river in the hope of reaching the Pacfic Ocean. After crossing 3.000 miles in 102 days he will end up moving north to the Arctic. The river that crosses Canada will be named after him. On the 22th July 1793 he begins another journey towards the Pacific
