Ο κόσμος της ιππασίας θρηνεί τον θάνατο του 20χρονου Peter McLean, του πέμπτου τζόκεϊ που σκοτώνεται σε πτώση από το άλογό του μέσα στη χρονιά μετά τον 38χρονο Simon Long, τον Polly Phillips, τον Αυστραλό Robert Slade και την 33χρονη Peta Beckett. Ο Nicolas Gregory, εκπρόσωπος του Bristish Horse Society, αναφέρει ότι οι αναβάτες πέφτουν από τα άλογά τους γύρω στις 600 φορές στην καριέρα τους αλλά σπάνια σκοτώνονται
