Σκοτώνεται σε ηλικία 46 ετών ο Graham Hill, ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους οδηγούς αγώνων αυτοκινήτου της Βρεταννίας, όταν συντρίβεται στο Βόρειο Λονδίνο, το αεροπλάνο του, ένα Piper Aztec, το οποίο πιλοτάρει ο ίδιος. Είναι ο μόνος οδηγός, που είχε επιτύχει το Triple Crown, δηλαδή να κερδίσει το Indianapolis 500 (1966), τις 24 Ώρες του Le Mans (1972) και την Formula 1 (1962,1968) ή/και Το Grand Prix του Monaco (1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1969)
Graham Hill, one of the greatest motor racing drivers of Britain, is killed when his Piper Aztec aeroplane, which he was piloting, crashes in foggy conditions over Arkley Golf Course in North London. He was the only driver to win th Triple Crown, i.e. Indianapolis 500 (1966), 24 Hours of Le Mans (1972) and Formula 1 (1962,1968) or/and Monaco Grand Prix (1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1969).
