Aleksandr Belov dies at the age of 27 from a very rare disease (heart sarcoma). He was the scorer of the winning basket in the last second of the final of the Summer Olympics in Munich in 1972, where the Russians beat the Americans by 51-50 and won the gold medal. Aleksandr was not a relative to his co player in this match Sergei Belov, who is generally considered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time
