Ο Donald Campbell οδηγώντας μία Bluebird K7 με ταχύτητα 444,71 χλμ/ώρα σπάει το παγκόσμιο ρεκόρ ταχύτητας πάνω σε νερό (το 7ο του) στην Λίμνη Dumbleyung κοντά στο Πέρθ, και γίνεται ο πρώτος που σπάει τα ρεκόρ στο έδαφος και στο νερό την ίδια χρονιά. Πέντε μήνες νωρίτερα, στις 17/7, έσπασε το ρεκόρ στο έδαφος με 648,73 χλμ/ώρα με ένα τετράτροχο όχημα.
Donald Campbell, driving Bluebird K7 at a speed of 444,71 km/h, breaks the world water speed record (his 7th) in Lake Dumbleyung near Perth, becoming the first to set both land and water speed record in the same year. Five months ago, on July 17th, he broke the land record with 648,73km/h for a four-wheeled vehicle.
