Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες
Η 36χρονη παγκοσμίου φήμης βιολίστρια Vanessa Mae, σκιέρ από τα 4 της χρόνια, λαμβάνει μέρος στους Χειμερινούς Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Σότσι με τη σημαία της Ταυλάνδης στο αλπικό σκι με το όνομα Vanessa Vanakorn τερματίζοντας στην 67η θέση στο Giant Slalom. H Vanakorn είχε προσπαθήσει να μετάσχει στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του 2002 αλλά της ζητήθηκε να αφήσει την βρετανική υπηκοότητα, κάτι που δεν ήταν έτοιμη να κάνει. Το 2009 πήρε την Ταϋλανδική υπηκοότητα και ξεκίνησε προετοιμασία το 2010.
36-year-old violin player Vanessa Mae, a skier since the age of four, represents Thailand in the 2014 Winter Olympics as an alpine skier with the name Vanessa Vanakorn finishing 67th in the Giant Slalom competition. Vanakorn attempted to represent Thailand for the 2002 Winter Olympics, but was unable to do so at the time, as the Thai Olympic Committee had requested she give up her British citizenship, which she was not ready to do. In 2009 Vanessa-Mae took up residence and started to train competitively in 2010.
