Υδατοσφαίριση
Πεθαίνει σε ηλικία 80 ετών, ο κορυφαίος Έλληνας διαιτητής της υδατοσφαίρισης Λάκης Τσαντάς. Διετέλεσε 3 φορές Πρόεδρος της Παγκόσμιας Ομοσπονδίας Διαιτητών Πόλο, πρόεδρος του Συνδέσμου Ελλήνων Διαιτητών Υδατοσφαίρισης (ΣΕΔΥ), Πρόεδρος της Κεντρικής Επιτροπής Διαιτησίας της ΚΟΕ, Μέλος της ΤΕ Πόλο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ομοσπονδίας (LEN). Διαιτήτευσε συνολικά 507 διεθνείς αγώνες, σε 5 Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες (1972-1976-1980-1984-1988), σε 6 παγκόσμια πρωταθλήματα (1973-1975-1978-182-1986-1991), σε 5 ευρωπαϊκά (1975-1977-1981-1985-1987), σε 2 Μεσογειακούς Αγώνες, κλπ.
Apostolos (Lakis) Tsantas the emblematic strain of Greek and International Family of Water Polo Referees dies aged 80. He was the historic member of the Association of Greek water polo referees. He held the presidency for many years of the Central Committee of Referees in Greek Swimming Federation until now. He was for 3 quadrennials President of AIA (International Association of Water Polo Referees). and in addition was elected member of Technical Water Polo Committee (TWPC) of LEN, an election that put him at the top of the Water Polo governing bodies of arbitration in the European area. He served for many years (from 1970 to 1991) as an International Water Polo Referee, with too many appointments in top events in the global scene. He arbitrated 507 international games, 5 Olympic Games (1972-1976-1980-1984-1988), 6 World Championships (1973-1975-1978-182-1986-1991), 5 European Championships (1975-1977-1981-1985-1987), 2 Mediterranean Games, etc.
