Πεθαίνει στο σπίτι του στο Βελιγράδι ο Μπόρισλαβ Στάνκοβιτς, γενικός γραμματέας της FIBA από το 1976 έως το 2002 σε ηλικία 94 ετών. Για την προσφορά του στο μπάσκετ, ο Στάνκοβιτς εισήλθε στο Hall of Fame το 1991 και στο FIBA Hall of Fame το 2007.
Legendary Borislav Stankovic passes away at the age of 94 in his home at Belgrade, Serbia. His enormous contribution to basketball throughout his life was well-recognized and included his Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction in 1991. Apart from being FIBA’s Secretary General between 1976 and 2002, Stankovic further served basketball as a member of the International Olympic Committee, the Yugoslav Basketball Committee, and the Board of Trustees at the Basketball Hall of Fame.
