Ο 37χρονος Νίκος Ζήσης ανακοινώνει ότι αποσύρεται από την ενεργό δράση. O Ζήσης ήταν ένα από τα βασικά μέλη της χρυσής γενιάς του ελληνικού μπάσκετ, αφού με την Εθνική κατέκτησε το Eurobasket του 2005, το ασημένιο μετάλλιο στο Μουντομπάσκετ του 2006 και το χάλκινο στο Eurobasket του 2009. Επιπρόσθετα, αγωνίστηκε με επιτυχία στην ΑΕΚ, την Μπενετόν, την ΤΣΣΚΑ, την Σιένα, την Μπιλμπάο, την Ούνιξ Καζάν, την Φενέρμπαχτσε, την Μπάμπεργκ και την Μπανταλόνα, ενώ η «Ένωση», με την οποία κατέκτησε το πρωτάθλημα Ελλάδας το 2022, ήταν και ο τελευταίος σταθμός της καριέρας του.
37-year-old Nikos Zisis announces his decision to retire from basketball. He started his pro career in 2000 in AEK, where he spent the first five years and also came back full circle with a one-season stint for the past year. In between, Zisis played for Benetton, CSKA, Siena, Bilbao, UNICS, Fenerbahce, Brose Bamberg (his number six jersey has been retired), and Joventut. He won the 2008 EuroLeague with CSKA along with numerous domestic titles wherever he went – Greek League, Greek Cup (2), Italian League (4), Italian Cup (4), Italian Supercup (4), VTB League, German League (2), German Cup (2), and German Supercup. He also won gold and bronze with the Greek national team in the 2005 and 2009 EuroBasket respectively, as well as silver in the 2006 World Cup.
