Ποδόσφαιρο
Κυκλοφορεί το “Three Lions”, ο επίσημος ύμνος της εθνικής ομάδας ποδοσφαίρου της Αγγλίας. Την μουσική έχει γράψει το ποπ/ροκ συγκρότημα “The Lightning Seeds” ενώ τους στίχους οι κωμικοί David Baddiel και Frank Skinner. Η θυρεός της Αγγλίας που εμφανίζει τα τρία λιοντάρια υιοθετήθηκε από τον Ριχάρδο τον Λεοντόκαρδο, προς το τέλος της ζωής του το 1199.
The official anthem of the England football team, the “Three Lions” is released. The music is written by “The Lightning Seeds”, an alternative pop/rock band and the lyrics are provided by comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner. The royal “coat of arms of England” showing the three lions was adopted by King Richard I, the Lionheart, towards the end of his life in 1199.
