Ο Μίμης Παπαναγιώτου, δημοσιεύει στην εφημερίδα “Καθημερινή”, με αφορμή τον πριν από ένα μήνα (26/6) θάνατο του Σπύρου Σκούρα, προέδρου της ΑΕΚ και του Πανελληνίου, εκδότη του εβδομαδιαίου περιοδικού “Πρωταθλητής” αλλά και παππού του Πέτρου Κόκκαλη, άρθρο με τίτλο “Ο Τελευταίος Φίλαθλος”. Αποχαιρετώντας τον, ο αρθρογράφος κάνει ιδιαίτερη μνεία στην αντιστασιακή του δράση στο πλευρό του αδερφού του Θάνου, προέδρου της ΠΕΑΝ. Η ΠΕΑΝ έκανε την πρώτη ένοπλη δυναμική πράξη αντίστασης στην κατεχόμενη Ευρώπη ανατινάζοντας στις 20 Σεπτεμβρίου του 1942 το κτίριο που στεγάζονταν η προδοτική οργάνωση ΕΣΠΟ στην Ομόνοια. Ο Θάνος εκτελέστηκε και ο Σπύρος Σκούρας έδωσε το όνομα του αδερφού του στον πρώτο του υιό.
Mimis Papanagiotou, publishes an article entitled "The Last Sportsman", in the newspaper "Kathimerini", on the occasion of the death of Spyros Skouras (26/6), president of AEK and Panellinios, publisher of the weekly magazine "Protathlitis" and grandfather of Petros Kokkalis. The columnist sends his farewell making particular reference to his participation in the Resistance on the side of his brother Thanos, president of PEAN. On 20th September 1942, PEAN blew up the ESPO building in Omonoia, marking the first major act of armed resistance in German-occupied Europe. Thanos was executed by the Germans and Spyros Skouras gave his brother's name to his first son.
