O Pau Cubarsí της Barcelona στην ηλικία των 17 ετών και 79 ημερών γίνεται ο νεότερος αμυντικός στην ιστορία που ξεκινά σε αγώνα προημιτελικής φάσης του Champions League (Paris Saint Germain – Barçelona). Το ρεκόρ κρατούσε ο Ρώσος Georgiy Shchennikov που εμφανίστηκε στην ίδια φάση του Champions League για την CSKA Moscow εναντίον της Ίντερ στην ηλικία των 18 ετών και 338 ημερών. Ο Τρίτος νεότερος παίκτης είναι ο αμυντικός της Real Madrid Raphaël Varane που αγωνίστηκε με τον APOEL Nicosia σε ηλικία 18 ετών και 245 ημερών το 2012.
At the age of 17 years and 79 days Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsí becomes the youngest defender ever to start in the quarter-finals of the Champions League (Paris Saint Germain – Barçelona). The record was held by Russian Georgiy Shchennikov who appeared at the same stage of the Champions League for CSKA Moscow against Internazionale aged 18 years and 338 days. The third youngest ever was former Real Madrid defender Raphaël Varane who started a game against APOEL Nicosia in the last eight aged 18 years and 245 days in 2012.
