Ιδρύεται η ομάδα μπάσκετ των Harlem Globetrotters από τον Abe Saperstein. Η ομάδα αποτελείται από παίκτες ζογκλέρ που παίζουν μπάσκετ χωρίς να εφαρμόζουν τους κανονισμούς εν ονόματι του θεάματος και κατά καιρούς φιλοξενούν στην σύνθεσή τους μεγάλα ονόματα του ΝΒΑ, όπως τους Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Byron Dinkins κ.α.
Abe Saperstin founds Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. The team consists of showmen playing basket. Big NBA stars (Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Byron Dinkins, etc) have occasionally played with them
