Οι Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες Νέων (14-18 ετών) γίνονται πραγματικότητα. Τα μέλη της ΔΟΕ εγκρίνουν, κατά την διάρκεια της 119ης Συνόδου στην πόλη της Γκουατεμάλα, την διοργάνωση των Καλοκαιρινών Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων Νέων το 2010 και των Χειμερινών Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων Νέων το 2012
