Ο πρώτος αγώνας μεταξύ του Gary Kasparov και του ηλεκτρονικού υπολογιστή της IBM, Deep Blue, ξεκινάει στην Φιλαντέλφια της Πενσυλβάνια. Ο αγώνας θα κρατήσει μία εβδομάδα (μέχρι τις 17/2), 6 παιγνίδια θα παιχτούν και ο Gary Kasparov θα κερδίσει με 4-2. Παρόλα αυτά, το παιγνιδι της πρώτης ημέρας θα μείνει στην ιστορία αφού το κέρδισε ο Deep Blue, ο οποίος είναι το πρώτο μηχάνημα που κερδίζει αγώνα σκακιού ενάντια σε έναν εν’ ενεργεία παγκόσμιο πρωταθλητή.
The first match between Gary Kasparov and Deep Blue, the IBM supercomputer, starts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The match will last a week (until 17/2), 6 games are going to be played and Gary Kasparov will win by 4-2. However, the game on the starting day is going to be historical as it is won by Deep Blue, which will be the first machine to win a chess game against a reigning world champion.
